2021年08月31日15时18分，宜宾市民翘首以盼的金沙江大道至宜庆路连接线主线实现双向双幅通车。据了解，以前宜宾城区到高县要1个半小时，该路段通车后，只要30多分钟就可以到达高县。宜宾市金沙江大道至宜庆路连接线建设工程是宜宾市南部区域交通主干线，是宜宾市级重点项目和宜宾市2021年“幸福宜宾十大工程”重点项目之一，广大人民群众高度关注。于2021年2月8日（农历春节前）实现了初通（单向单幅通车）。该项目计划总投资9.9亿元，道路主线总长4.03公里，宽26米，含道路主线桥梁1座，匝道高架桥8座
